Topamax bipolar weight loss
When I was dx with Migraines I was taking a sub-lingual pill called Maxalt (this does work) you have to take one tablet and place it under your tongue as you feel a migraine coming on. Your honesty, sense of humor and obvious knowledge of this drug was a joy to read. I have struggled with my weight since adolescence, and am thrilled to say that Topamax has really given me no other problems except a few weird tingling sensations in my feet, but I can deal. I have been on Topamax, 50 mg for a week, and I have already lost 5 lbs. I am to increase to two pills a day for a month, then three then four, etc until visiting the doctor again in may. Before I took Topamax the migraines were quite bad, I was having them a couple times a week. Thank you for being so understanding and kind. I do try to give all the info I can but sometimes my delivery is harsh due to my frustration. But I wish the manufacture would just change the taste of the pill, its fast dissolve and strong peppermint taste. Honestly, I feel that it is my duty to give out the information that I have. The only side effect I have experienced is weight loss, which I am thrilled about. When I read a post saying that someone tried bananas for the tingling and it worked - well, it just makes me stupidly happy. I just starting Topamax for my tension headaches. The main side effect of the medication, which I personally LOVE, is the fact that I have so far lost 15 lbs. I do try to give all the info I can but sometimes my delivery is harsh due to my frustration. On imitrex as well, it does not work either. This way of thinking is counter productive and dangerous in some cases. I heard the weightloss effect depends on the dose. I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax. The only side effect I have experienced is weight loss, which I am thrilled about. :).
I also had the taste change when drinking soda which also got better but more recently. Thank you for being so understanding and kind. On imitrex as well, it does not work either. The weight loss aspect is the only plus. I have been fighting Migraines for the last 6 years mostly caused from stress from work. :). I noticed in the last month that the tension headaches are just as bad as my Migraines.
